If you have used any smartphone before, transitioning to a Hero wont be too difficult, but i wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. I love how you can really make this phone your own, it is very customizable. All the apps are free, It makes for quick and easy web browsing. Great Camera!

This phone is amazing. I love the fact that I can make the phone look complete opposite with the great customizable scenes. I can have it handy for work during my work week, and eliminate all my work related items during the weekend.

This phone has everything. It has a 5MP camera, high resolution screen, and the ability to personalize the screens. Also with the Market application, you can download many applications to your phone with most of them having a price of $0.00. It is a great Android device for anybody.

HTC Hero was my first Android based device and the first thing I noticed while turning it on was the screen resolution. The phone has one of the best virtual keyboard that I have used and an impressive 5.0 megapixel camera.
As a suggestion, make sure that you have "Taskill" app installed so you know what programs are running in the background.

It is a solid entry level Android Device.
